University of Oxford Sport

“With such a great team of coaches behind them, the children were treated to some of the best sports coaching available with obvious improvements in their technique and ability. The Academies of Sport team put on a great academy and we’re looking forward to working with them next year.”

Since 2012, AEG has developed and run numerous academies at University’s prestigious facilities including the Beckie Herbert Hockey Academy and Dean Macey Athletics Academy, both under the Academies of Sport brand.  By combining the outstanding  University of Oxford Sport facilities with top international coaches, the academies offered an exceptional opportunity for young athletes to experience intensive sports coaching in cutting edge skills and strategies.

“Although Active Education Group is a new company, what immediately struck me was the wealth of experience that comes with it. This became apparent on the first day when it was obvious that the children were thriving on a new, refreshing approach rather than going through the motions as was the case with our previous provider. The presence of the Managing Director on site, ensuring that our facilities had been left in pristine condition after their use, spoke volumes for their hands on approach. I can highly recommend them.” Jonathan Whybrow, Head Master

AEG is running Ultimate Activity Camps and Ultimate Survival programmes during the school  holidays at Beachborough School, one of the country’s oldest prep schools set in 30 acres of leafy grounds on the borders of Bucks, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire.  Utilising the schools superb facilities and AEG’s activity equipment, children can enjoy over 40 activities from archery and art, to motor quads and zorbs.  We are also run Ultimate Survival in their grounds, exciting bushcraft day camps for 7-14 year olds.

“We have been really impressed with Active Education, particularly their understanding of our requirements to have holiday programmes that reflect our school values and provide parents with quality programmes that not only entertain children, but also actively develop them. Active Education Group’s holiday programmes compliment our educational provision, and also allow us to showcase our school and facilities to new parents – seeing smiling children and parents leaving the school at the end of the day certainly reaffirms our decision.” Andy Rolfe, Deputy Bursar

One of the leading independent girls schools in the UK with first class facilities right in the heart of Oxford, AEG is partnering with Headington School to provide Ultimate Activity Camps during the Easter, Summer and October holidays, and a bespoke Academies of Sport programme of academies during Summer holidays.  AEG has worked closely with the school to create a co-branded ‘Headington Academies of Sport’ programme offering academies in Trampolining, Rowing, Hockey and Netball which are all delivered by first-class lead coaches and sports people.

St. Gabriel’s, Newbury

“St. Gabriel’s continuously reviews its “holiday offering” to match changing parental taste and choice, and also to provide the highest quality possible. We found that our parents wanted much more than just childcare, and more importantly their children wanted much more than that too! Ultimate Activity Camps marketed themselves as a new breed of Activity providers and it was very clear from our earliest discussions that they had deep experience and strong passions.

If there was just one image that epitomised the success of every day it would be tired, happy, bedraggled children of all ages leaving at the end of very busy days, saying “Can I come back tomorrow?” Staffing was excellent… not just idle supervision. The success can also be measured by the return rate of students, the additional days booked, and the overwhelming reports of satisfied parents. We’re looking forward to the summer when we expand into “Schools of Sport” with Netball, Athletics and Dance Academies.” Noel Erskine, Bursar at St. Gabriel’s

AEG is working with St Gabriel’s School to provide Ultimate Activity Camps during the Easter, Summer and October holidays.  St. Gabriel’s is a thriving independent girls day school set in the spectacular setting of Sandleford Priory, a beautiful listed building in 54 acres of parklands landscaped by “Capability” Brown. Utilising the stunning outdoor landscape there, AEG also operates its popular Ultimate Survival day camps for children aged 7-14 years.
